Welcome to Eat, Drink and be Merry!
I've been cooking many years and accumulated many recipes on paper and in my head, and it was the time to organize them.  Simply put, this blog is my recipe box.  I'd like you to try some of these recipes and hope you find something you like.  All the recipes are created by me, unless otherwise noted.  Your constructive feedback is welcome.  I always try to improve my recipes, and your input is valuable.  If you have questions about my recipes, please feel free to leave a comment.  I will try to answer your questions.

About me
My culinary journey started early on in my life.  My mother was a great cook, and as a kid, I always helped (or pestered) her in the kitchen.  Unfortunately she passed away before revealing all of her cooking secrets, but there is no doubt that she is the biggest influence on my cooking style.

In 2003, I left my home town, Tokyo, and moved to New York, where I was exposed to so many different cuisines from all over the world.  As my pantry became much more international, so did my repertoire.  My recipe collection includes Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Italian, American, and even a little French.  Some dishes are authentic, and others are fusions.  My recipes do not have country borders, and that's the way I like it.  I'd like to know more about Mexican dishes as I only know how to make tacos with store bought seasonings.  Thai, Vietnamese and Korean are still strangers to me.  So much more to learn!

My love for cooking grew when I found someone to cook for.  When my husband served pasta with a  store bought marinara sauce unheated, I knew I would be the chef in our relationship, and I was glad to be.  Since then, my husband has been my designated sous chef and a happy guinea pig.

Finally, my motto is "Eat, drink and be merry."
Cheers to happy cooking.
